Out With The Old, In With The New!

Out With The Old, In With The New!

Notice anything different from the blog? Like, oh I don't know, perhaps a little makeover??

(Ok, maybe a HUGE makeover!)

Well, if you need a little help answering that question, then the answer is YES!!

If you've been with Metanoia Living from the beginning, you already know how exciting this is for me! As you may recall, this has been something I've dreamt of completing since I initially started the blog.

I feel so official now, with a logo and everything!

I'm beyond happy and over the moon with how everything turned out and how the blog is slowly evolving.

Remember this?

Original Metanoia Living I've come a long way, huh?

To be honest, I was never too fond of my old layout. Not sure what possessed me to even pick those colors. I guess when I started the blog, I wasn't concerned on what it really looked like. I picked the first colors I saw and just started posting. But after receiving such a warm and positive response from my posts, I knew I had to change it up.

Another thing you might have noticed is that I haven't written in over a month.

Yikes, it's been that long!

The only explanation I have for that is that I fell out of love with my blog- not blogging, but with the blog itself. After seeing how beautifully my blog was coming along, I wanted to wait and write in my new blog. I know, so silly, but I was like a kid with a shiny new toy.

But can you blame me?

Look how pretty Metanoia Living is now! It turned out exactly how I had envisioned it;  simple but with my personality and message written all over it. A more accurate representation of my style and taste.

Welcome-With-Text

Getting to this final stage was a long three-month process. Primarily because I didn't have a clue on where to begin. I had an idea in my head of the direction I wanted to take the blog,  just needed to make it a reality. Luckily, the right people came into my life and made my dream come true.

Let's start off with my awesome logo. Nothing too crazy, but stayed aligned with my theme. I teamed up with Karla from K. Rad Designs, who let me tell you, is so artistic and creative! If you follow her on Instagram, you'll see what I mean.

After going back and forth, with what seemed like 20 designs, we reverted back to the original concept I had sent her (which was a crappy version I made on Microsoft Word). She tweaked it and made it look better than what I could've imagined. She also designed my business cards, which captures the true essence of the blog.

They're not that bright- but for photo purposes, the peach had to be enhanced.

After the logo, came the most important component. The blog design.

I tried using a template from Wordpress, but nothing seemed to have the look or feel I wanted (and needed). The only way  I was going to achieve the perfect design for my blog was to have it custom-made. And that's exactly what I did.

This is where Ginny from My New Favorite Design came in. I expressed to her the exact look I was going for and gave her examples of my vision. And guess what? She nailed it!! Everything that I  wanted translated perfectly to my blog. Not only did she do an amazing job (thank you Ginny!) but she also was so patient with me and my ever-changing requests and indecisiveness. She truly was a joy to work with- hopefully she thinks the same about me, ha! Ginny also has her own blog, A Modern Commonplace Book,  which I've checked out and really enjoyed.

And lastly, a blog wouldn't be complete without pictures. But I'll save that special mention for another post (yes, it deserves it's own post).

Now that the blog is finally complete, it's back to doing what I love. Blogging!

Since lately I've been absent in sharing with you my thoughts and experiences, I decided to still write what I did last month, this month.  I'll be posting that starting next week. Hopefully it's not too confusing.

If you haven't done so yet, take a tour of the blog and let me know what you think.

What's your favorite part?

Mine is the Shop page!

You see, I'm you're typical t-shirt and jeans type of girl, so finding inspiration to spruce up my wardrobe is something I can definitely benefit from. I had so much fun picking out the items, especially for the Men's section- surprisingly! It was quick and easy, I just envisioned what I would want my future boyfriend to wear. I mean, a girl can dream right? I'll add more items soon, so keep a lookout for that.

Can't wait to get some feedback from you guys!

As always, thank you for supporting Metanoia Living and joining me on this journey.
