Finding Your Balance. Four Easy Ways To Improve Your Day

Self improvement is something I strive to always make time for. I know first hand how important keeping both my mental and physical health in check is. From my mood, productivity and self esteem, if I don’t feel balanced and aligned, I’ll immediately notice a shift.

Here are four things I do daily that help me stay on track and focused.

EXPRESS GRATITUDE

Every morning and right before I go to bed, I write three things I’m grateful for in my journal. I’ve been journaling for the past four years and it’s something that if I don’t do, I feel like something is off. There are different ways to express gratitude though, from daily grateful walks, meditation, or even saying it out loud, whatever works for you.

STAY HYDRATED

Being kind to our bodies not only consists of exercising and eating well. Keeping hydrated and making sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water is vital to our health. I never realized how little amount I was drinking until I started keeping track of my water intake. There were days where I was lucky to have one glass in my system. The best way to drink more water is to keep a water bottle with you at all times.

I recently went to a Tony Robbins conference and one of the biggest takeaways I got from him was the importance of reading- especially self help books. Leaders are Readers. There is so much wealth of knowledge found in books that wasting my time doing things that aren’t productive doesn’t appeal to me anymore. GO OUTSIDE

Since I work from home, there are days where I don’t even step outside the whole day. Getting some fresh air and changing your scenery will not only give you a nice little break but also some mental clarity. Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed, I take a quick 5 min walk around my neighborhood and I come back feeling refreshed! It’s amazing how only 5 mins can relax you plus it’s a great way to sneak in a few sips of your water. Win-win for sure!
