The new year is the perfect time to set new goals and challenge yourself to do better in every aspect of your life. For most people, including myself, health is on the top of the list. Especially after over indulging during the holidays.
I consider myself a fairly healthy person. I don't smoke or drink coffee, only consume alcohol socially and get at least 7 hours of sleep every night. Unfortunately, my eating habits can't be praised the same.
The main issue with my food intake is portion control. I used to be good at listening to my body and only eating when hungry, but now I find myself overeating and not making the best food choices. The lack of organization and mindful eating has resulted in me gaining over 20lbs in the past 2 years!
At the beginning of the year, I made a promise to myself to get back on track and adopt a much more healthier lifestyle.
I've partnered with Jenny Craig to help me reach my goal succesfully. For the next two months, I will be meeting with a consultant and following their personally designed meal plan.
Jenny Craig is a clinically proven and recommended weight-loss program designed to provide structure and support to help members lose weight and learn how to keep it off. The program takes a holistic approach to weight loss and weight management, focusing on food, body and mind.
Every member is paired with a dedicated consultant who provides them with one-on-one support to identify their challenges and goals, and helps them to create unique weekly meal and activity plans.
This week I met with my consultant, Catherine, for the first time. She was super sweet and so helpful with explaining in great detail the entire program and the realistic expectations of losing 1-2 pounds per week, which is a healthy range of weight loss.
I left motivated and excited to start the Jenny Craig program!
Consultants provide education on portion control, healthy eating habits and teach members strategies such as how to combine delicious Jenny Craig Meals and Snacks with Fresh & Free Additions that are rich in water and fiber to keep them feeling full longer with fewer calories.
My membership includes all the food I'll be consuming for the next couple of months. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks per day. I was pleasantly surprised at their selection of food offered. There are more than 100 premium menu items created by 40 professional chefs. There is something for everyone- even if you have a dietary restriction or have a picky palate, Jenny Craig has you covered.

A few years ago I tried Weight Watchers and although I did lose weight on their program, I didn't particularly like having to constantly weigh or measure my food. With Jenny Craig, all the food is premade and packaged for you. All you have to do is warm it up and enjoy.
It doesn't get any easier than that.
I love their shakes, especially the Chocolate Dream! It provides portable protein, fiber and essential vitamins and minerals- perfect for a post work out snack.
