Summer Hair With John Frieda

I partnered with John Frieda® Hair Care to bring you this sponsored post. The John Frieda® Hair Care Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter and Visibly Deepercollections can be found at Walmart.

After 5 years of not doing anything to my hair, I decided it was time to experiment and change up my look for the Summer. It was long overdue- no more boring hair!

I recently chopped off 4 inches and got a balayage. Since my hair is dark brown, almost black, it tends to have red undertones. Sometimes resulting in orange and brassy hues when dying it lighter. It's always a difficult process trying to get the color just right.

Now, instead of spending a crazy amount of time and money on frequent trips to the salon, I teamed up with John Frieda® Hair Care to try out try out their Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ Subtle Lightening Shampoo, Conditioner and In-Shower Lightening Treatment for a natural-looking summer sun-kissed glow, right in the shower!

John Frieda® Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ Shampoo and Conditioner will gradually brighten without brassiness and take brunette hair in a warmer, more golden direction. The effects are subtle and work with your shade so no need to be nervous; you won’t go orange or brassy. To see the benefit, you need to use the duo between 3-5 times.

For something instant—there’s also the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ Treatment which will lighten you up to one shade after one quick 5 minute use!

These products work on natural, highlighted and color-treated hair so they’re great for everyone.

If you’re a brunette who wants to go a shade deeper, John Frieda® Hair Care also has another trio of products called Visibly Deeper™ Formulated with cocoa and evening primrose oil, Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ Color Deepening shampoo and conditioner infuses rich, dark tones so you can deepen the spectrum of your brunette color.

Besides my new lighter hair color, I'm loving the hairstyle of the moment- the effortless half up top knot bun. It's quick to create and perfect for the hot summer days.

half up top knot

Step 1: Part your hair, dividing it top from bottom. I like to part it a bit lower, close to my ears.

Step 2: Hold the hair in a pony tail and start wrapping it loosely around your index and middle finger, making a bun.

Step 3: Once all the hair is tightly in one place, use a hair tie to wrap around the entire bun until secure. Use bobby pins if needed.

That's it! Super easy and fun.
